In 2017 I worked on a wonderful project: illustrating Marin Sorescu, a well-known Romanian poet, playwright and prose writer. The anthology reunites poems from previously published volumes, under the title “The Circus is back”.
I’ve always loved his witty and playful – sometimes even absurd and surreal – style, and his work stimulated my creativity and opened a world of possibilities for my imagination.

Each poem is accompanied by a drawing, but facing illustrations share a connection – be it in the story they tell, or the color used, or a wondering element. The technique used is digital, with gouache brushes by Kyle T. Webster.

The book was commissioned and published by the Arthur (Editorial Group Art).
